Africa, the second-largest and second-most populous continent in the world after Asia, accounts for about 15% of the world population. Although Africa is very high in natural resources it remains to be the poorest and most underdeveloped continent in the world with poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, poor health and unemployment issue. It is also on record that African countries top the chat of the world's list of countries by Unemployment rate.
Amidst this is the proliferation of head hunters and employment agencies all over Africa that force job seekers to purchase forms and in some cases part with their 1st month remunerations. Most saddening is the fact that Government Policies in Africa are not encouraging Entrepreneurship and make it very difficult for bright Entrepreneurs to access loans from banks as they usually do not possess the requisite collateral for such loans.
For far longer than we can remember, Africans have been educated to work for somebody else and equipped them to be employees rather than employers; they become competent followers. The resultant effect of this is the availability of millions of unemployed graduates all over Africa who vie for very few available positions, especially, in Government. Today, the very high unemployment rate has its attendant problems ranging from youth restiveness, heinous crimes and the constant brain drain in search of greener pastures abroad, to mention but a few.
The enormous unemployment situation can only be appreciated by the proliferation of Head Hunters and Internet Job sites all over Africa. By our survey, over 500, 000 job seekers all over Africa patronize these job websites on a daily basis with little hope from Employers as vacancies are few in the very saturated job market. EMPLOYER™ is completely dissatisfied with these events and works with the unemployed in a most transparent manner as partners towards achieving full scale empowerment for them, for businesses by them that will be run by them, hence the foundation principles of JOBOCRACY (please see http://jobocracy.blogspot.com for more insight into our methods at curbing unemployment).
According to the MDG Africa Steering Group, at the mid-point in the global effort to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015, progress in many African countries is not on track. The continent’s pace on each Goal is lagging, despite encouraging increases in economic growth and strengthened policies. Nevertheless, a number of recent successes — including the expansion of HIV/AIDS treatment, increases in agricultural productivity, a dramatic rise in school enrolment and improved access to water supply — demonstrate that rapid progress is possible across Africa when sound national programmes are matched with adequate development assistance and full support from the international system.
EMPLOYER™ was founded in 2008 by UNINET® International as one of her formidable carriers of change aimed at helping realize the MDGs in Africa and assisting African Governments in their fight against poverty and unemployment issues. An employment service of UNINET® International, EMPLOYER™ works closely with Government Agencies, Civil Society Groups, Corporations and Individuals to provide employment opportunities and funds for all Africans.
EMPLOYER™ is a resource for jobseekers, employers, marketers, advertisers and venture capitalists to mention but a few, from all over the world to meet, interact and forge positive and transformative relationships that would have positive impacts on the African society thereby giving birth to an entrepreneurial revolution.
EMPLOYER™ is setup to work with this principle to build Employers and not Employees, to create Entrepreneurs and also Intrapreneurs (who choose to be Employees), who would, as several researches have shown, transform our African economies, well in line with the MDGs and the Visions of various African States.
The EMPLOYER™ project is being established in all African Countries, one at a time until everyone is empowered. We therefore call on all stakeholders in Africa as well as friends of Africa to join us in this laudable cause.
